The Surrealist Ball
LIBERATE THE IMAGINATION
A night of costumes, performance, art, freedom, fashion and the alter ego. Celebrating the freedom to play, to love and to be who you are.
Hosted by Amsterdam Spook, The Surrealist Ball is inspired in part by the Rothschilds’ lavish costume parties of the 1970s. Our inaugural ball was held on 15 April 2017 at the Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam. The next Surrealist Ball will be held in spring 2018. Dates and details will be announced here autumn 2017.
Tear away from the clutches of the day-to-day and immerse yourself in the luscious sweet spot of your subconscious...
Whimsical, lavish, eccentric, imaginative - join us for an evening of surrealist fashion, theatre, live costuming and deviant art.
Expect the uncanny, the decadent and the absurd with a programme of over 30 artists, including:
☆ Open cat walk ☆ Performance artists ☆ Theatre troupes ☆ Art classes ☆ Photography studio ☆ Surrealist Cinema ☆ Rothschilds Cats ☆ Art & costume installations ☆ Live styling ☆ Body painting ☆ DJs ☆ Creative vibe ☆
