The Surrealist Ball
15 April 2017, 23:00-05:00
Paradiso Noord, Tolhuistuin, IJprominade 2
LIBERATE THE IMAGINATION
Whimsical, decadent, eccentric, imaginative - we invite you to an evening of fantastic fashion, absurdist theatre, surreal catwalking, live costuming and deviant art. Tear away from the clutches of the day-to-day and immerse yourself in the luscious sweet spot of your subconscious...
Hosted by Amsterdam Spook, in collaboration with the Imagine Film Festival, the Ball is inspired in part by the Rothschilds’ lavish costume parties of the 1970s and the 2017 Imagine Film Festival ‘fantastic fashion’ theme.
Performance artists include theatre troupes, aerialist, body painter, artful fashionistas and live costume styling. Take part or take in live model painting, photographers corner, Catwalk of Tomfoolery, and fashion and art installations by local artists. And, the DJs will make sure you don’t take it all too seriously.
Expect the unusual and the bizarre, as we take you by the hand and fully immerse in the surreal.
